There are more than 14 days since I came back to Romania, hoping that everything that is going on is just a bad dream. For all of us who have a full time travelling position or are simply passioned about travel, this is not only a bad timing (as season was about to begin soon), but a time when resilience and hope must carry the communities affected by these horrible times.
This post is not about heroes in the first line, is not about doctors or nurses, army or police on the street. Is about the consultant or travel agent who probably stayed without a job these days. Is about the people who are in the back of your holiday: airlines, tour-operators, tour-guides, customer care representatives in airports, back offices and many other related positions to travelling who made all your holidays safe and in different moments of your life, wonderful.
For all of you who love travelling out there, here’s my message to you: do not let your tour-operators die! Do not cancel your trips! CHANGE THE DATES!
If during the year all these people didn’t count for you, during your 7 or 10 days holiday, they were there all the time: 24 to 24 hours. Maybe you didn’t had yet the holiday of your dream, you didn’t went to Maldives, or somewhere in Europe or you didn’t take that exotic trip you were planning for a long time.
When this is all over, remember TIME is precious and if you really want to invest in something, invest in a travel that maybe won’t give you a cup full of gold, but will make you memories for a lifetime together with your loved ones.
By the time we will all travel again, I will continue to give you tips about what you can visit in Europe or Romania, I will keep writing about places, attractions and countries I loved, even if I went there just one time. A destination that I really want to turn back is Algarve in Portugal.
- for the fairytale beaches
- for the lovely weather all around the year
- for the clean waters
- for blue flag areas
- for hospitable people
- for the lovely Mediterranean food
- for village experiences
- for the sweetest oranges I have ever ate
- for the silence of the sunset on the beach
For all these, and for more to come, I promise myself that I will travel more often, discover more stories and I will never stop writing about them.
Till next time, enjoy spring or summer, even if it’s just virtually for a while, catching a sunset or dreaming to a sunset in a wonderful escape to Algarve, Portugal.
And who knows, maybe you will book your holiday here, for the next period when we will all travel again. 🙂
